This Privacy Policy explains how NexyPlay (“we”, “us”, “our”) handles information when you use the NexyPlay apps and website (collectively, the “Service”).

1. Quick summary

In simple terms:

  • NexyPlay is an IPTV player. You must provide your own playlists or credentials.
  • Your IPTV playlists, favorites, continue watching, TV guide mappings and settings are stored locally on your device, and optionally in your platform’s cloud storage (e.g. iCloud or Google).
  • We do not host, provide, or control any TV channels, movies, shows or streams.
  • We do not run our own streaming servers and do not keep a server-side log of what you watch.
  • We use third-party services like TMDb to enrich your content with artwork and metadata.

2. Information we process

2.1. Information you store in the app

Within NexyPlay, you may store:

  • IPTV playlists and provider credentials (e.g. M3U URLs and related settings).
  • TV guide (EPG) configuration for supported countries and channels.
  • Favorites and lists, such as favorite channels, movies and series.
  • Continue Watching and playback history so you can resume where you left off.
  • Kids area and maturity preferences to help families browse more safely.
  • App settings, such as language, UI preferences and playback options.

This information is stored in a local database or secure storage on your device. When cloud sync is enabled, a snapshot of this data can be stored in your platform’s cloud storage (e.g. iCloud or Google’s storage) so that it can sync across your devices on the same platform.

2.2. Device and diagnostic data

To keep NexyPlay stable and improve the experience, we may process:

  • Basic device information (e.g. OS version, device model, app version).
  • Crash reports and anonymous performance metrics provided by the operating system or app stores.
  • Aggregated analytics about feature usage (for example, how often a feature is used), without attaching it to your playlist content.

This data helps us find bugs, understand what features are useful and improve the app over time. We do not build marketing profiles based on your viewing or playlist contents.

2.3. Subscription and purchase information

NexyPlay Premium subscriptions and trials are handled by the platform’s billing systems (Apple App Store, Google Play, etc.). We do not receive or store your full payment card details.

We may receive:

  • Non-sensitive purchase identifiers and entitlement data (e.g. that your device has an active subscription).
  • Information about your plan type, billing period and trial status (e.g. active, cancelled, in trial).

This information is used only to unlock Premium features, manage your access and prevent abuse.

3. How we store and sync your data

3.1. On-device storage

By default, NexyPlay stores your playlists, favorites, history and settings locally on your device using secure storage and databases. If you uninstall the app or reset your device, this data may be removed.

3.2. Cloud sync (iCloud / Google, when enabled)

NexyPlay can optionally sync your profile (e.g. playlists and favorites) through your platform’s cloud storage (such as iCloud for Apple devices or Google storage for Android/Google devices).

  • The sync data is stored in your own cloud space under your platform account.
  • It is transmitted and stored using the security provided by the platform provider (Apple, Google, etc.).
  • The purpose is to keep your playlists and favorites aligned across devices on the same platform.

4. What we do NOT do

  • We do not host or provide TV channels, movies, shows or IPTV streams.
  • We do not upload your playlist contents to our own servers for resale or redistribution.
  • We do not run a central streaming service or track every program you watch on our own backend.
  • We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

5. Third-party services, metadata & credits

NexyPlay relies on several third-party services to provide artwork, metadata and platform features. These services may process some information when you use the app.

5.1. TMDb (The Movie Database)

  • NexyPlay uses the TMDb API to display artwork, title information and metadata for movies and series present in your playlists.
  • This may involve sending search queries or title identifiers (for example, the name of a movie or series) to TMDb’s servers to retrieve metadata and images.
  • Credits: “This product uses the TMDb API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDb.”

5.2. App stores and subscription partners

  • Your purchases and subscriptions are handled by Apple, Google and/or an in-app purchase partner.
  • We receive only the data necessary to know whether your subscription is active – no full card details.

5.3. Artwork and icon providers

NexyPlay may include additional artwork or icons from:

  • Freepik
  • Flaticon

These providers may host image assets that your device downloads. Their own privacy policies apply to their websites and hosting infrastructure.

6. Children’s privacy

NexyPlay includes a kids area as a friendlier way to browse content from your own playlists, with features like content voting and maturity guidance to help families pick what is appropriate. However:

  • The app is designed for use by adults who manage the playlists and providers.
  • We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children.
  • Parents or guardians are responsible for the playlists they connect and for supervising viewing.

7. Legal basis and purposes (where applicable)

Depending on your jurisdiction, we may rely on different legal bases to process information, including:

  • Contractual necessity – to provide the Service you install and use.
  • Legitimate interests – for app security, diagnostics and improvement, balanced against your rights.
  • Consent – where required for specific analytics or platform features.

8. Data retention

  • On-device data is kept as long as you use the app or until you delete it or uninstall the app.
  • Cloud sync snapshots are kept in your platform account (e.g. iCloud, Google) until you remove them, disable sync or delete your account or storage from the platform provider.
  • Purchase and entitlement data is kept as long as needed to manage subscriptions and comply with accounting or legal obligations.

9. Your rights and choices

Depending on your location, you may have rights such as:

  • Accessing the information we hold about you in identifiable form (if any).
  • Requesting correction of inaccurate information.
  • Requesting deletion of certain data, where applicable.
  • Objecting to or restricting certain types of processing.

Because NexyPlay is largely privacy-aware and local-first, many controls are already in your hands:

  • You can delete playlists, favorites, history and settings from within the app.
  • You can uninstall the app to erase most local data.
  • You can disable cloud sync from within the app or your platform settings.

10. IPTV content and responsibility

NexyPlay is an IPTV player only. We do not host, control or curate the content in your playlists. Because of this:

  • You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the legal right to access, view and stream any content you connect to NexyPlay.
  • We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or responsible for any third-party IPTV providers, channels, studios or rightsholders.
  • Movie and TV titles, channel names, logos, artwork and other media remain the property of their respective copyright holders.

11. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as we add features or to reflect changes in law. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. In some cases, we may also provide a more prominent notice in the app or on our website.
